Any data mining tool with the right settings could be used and I think that this one could be a good option being designed for traders. Good luck with the review. Is it scalping the market or looking for longer term trades?

I am looking forward reading more about it. Join Date Aug Location Canary Islands Posts Hi Paul, you were explaining to me earlier in the week how a "signal" works. Can you explain what a "signal" looks like? SAC View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Articles.

Join Date Mar Location Croydon Posts Hi Paul - I found your post as I am reviewing another Gecko program. Interesting concept - History repeating itself! Clairfication Of The 'Signals' Generated By TradeMinder Hi Traders Sorry for the delay - I shall be doing a post on the weekend but I thought due to the number of similar questions, that I'd do a quick summary of a 'Signal' from this program.

So, you enter the Minimum time in days that you want to hold the trade and the maximum number of days over which you wish to hold the trade The program then finds trades whose win rate is equal or greater than the value you entered - these trades can then be viewed in detail with Max Stop and Max Profit info for these trades - The software further scores these signals based on: Risk to Reward Ration 4.

Time taken to achieve the profit These Scores are from 0. Also of note is that there are two primary 'Modes' through which the signals are generated: You Select the month for which you want to 'Dig' for signals or You Select a Currency Pair and then the software lists all qualifying Signals for your selected pair and you can then sort by date or score or one of the other fields It should be noted that no timing for entry is given outside of the date on which to open the trade and the date on which to exit the trade - This is left up to you and means that you have some flexibility in choosing when although I personally would check the exit day for high impact news releases before setting the time to exit or enter for that matter!

To answer a couple of the other points raised, 1. This is not designed to Scalp as far as I can ascertain.

The software is truly stand-alone, there are no indicators involved in the signal generation. I will go into this in great detail along with results and my thoughts and analysis but for now, I hope this brings a little more clarity to what the 'signals' are As a last 'temporary help' I have inserted an image from the page you will reach when clicking our link below Trademiner Forex - Example of some of the information obtained after a 'dig' Bye for now, Paul If you find this review helpful and decide to buy this software or desire more information, could you please use the link provided here as any commission earned goes into the day to day costs of keeping this site running and providing the most honest and accurate reviews available!

Yet, it might just uncover trades that logical thinkers would dismiss. There is a technology that I know of that does something similar. Like the inputs or examples you describe Then it uses rules discovery to frame the events.

These rules are the ones that are common across the largest percentage of the events. I hope that makes sense. So, first it will look for all the price moves that fit the criteria, ten compares different rules that could satisfy identification of the move, then runs the rules against the whole data set to try to achieve the win percentage.

A technology like this can be used for anything where there is a large data set and someone who wants to find out something relating to that data. The examples I know of related to drug discovery and credit card fraud.

In fraud there are billions of transactions, identify the known fraudulent ones, create rules around them and question any future transactions that match the rules. In chemical structures, there are billions of possible structures, identify ones which have proven medical worth, create rules about the structures, then create new structures and see if they obey the know n rules. Of course if all this can be done in theoretical software rather than actually have to test everything manually it saves a vast amount of money and more importantly time.

In trading this method could be used to great advantage if the data set has all the criteria in it. It will be interesting to see. About 2, pips no less.

It is the single most profitable month for longing the pair. December is the opposite. In fact, studying these seasonal movements can be very helpful. It will be very interesting what other trades are found. If anyone wants my currency seasonality spreadsheet, let me know. It will take a little time to tidy up!

Trademiner Forex Review - A Quick Peep at a typical 'Dig' for Trades Hi Traders, Sorry for the delay, unfortunately I had some problems starting Sunday and had to deal with them so I'm back now and thought I'd post a screenshot of the trades for June - I am opening the ones starting after today which scored a 'Green Light'.

Also, to make it as relevant as possible for those of you who work, I shall open the selected trades in such a manner as to simulate how some of you may need to act in order to work AND trade!

For all trade signals, I shall open them twice The night before at around I was considering more entries but these two are the most relevant, Plus any later and trades that may last only one day, would not receive the correct trade duration and it would likely sqew the results!

In fairness to Gecko Software, I can only show screens of previous signals rather than give out trades signalled for the future but in this case, since only one or two trades for June remain, I am making a 'one-off' exception!

So, here is the output screen of TradeMiner Forex 2. The Trades were ordered by entry date. Great stuff, Paul, thanks for doing it! For how long are you planning to do this sort of review of software and signals?

The price is actually very impressively low, especially as you can trade also Futures with all the commodities. I understand that signals are mostly of longer term nature, i. Can you tell us what kind of stop losses are used? Time-based, pip-based, and how big they are from your experience so far for the signals you generated?
