Currently, I'm using a spreadsheet that I have created, however things are getting complicated because I have 4 different accounts CAD Cash, US Cash, TFSA, and RSP. I've also colour coded it to show open positions, closed positions, and partially open positions ie, I bought shares, then sold I'm kind of stuck on how to account for things like in kind transfers ie.
Can anyone share a spreadsheet or software program they use that has example of in kind transfers, partial sells ie, I bought shares of XYZ, then later I sell 50 shares. Another nice feature would be something that allows me to enter the dividends collected and factor that into my ROI calculations.

Second request from me. I've been trying to keep track the same way using a spreadsheet and its getting overly complicated.
If you got an Iphone get portfolio live 2. I use this to track everything, plus it gives me real-time quotes and portfolio value tse is delayed 15mins tho.

I'm sure they would have a PC program as well. Google Finance is pretty good and free.
It tracks an overall return and factors in commission but I'm not sure about dividends. It shows dividends in the stock history Quicken is very good as well and tracks all the transactions between your accts but it's not free. I just started using Quicken to track stocks and it seems to do it all Only thing it wouldn't do is let me hold CAD and USD in the RRSP acct probably because only Questrade does that But I just made a separate acct as USD and it works fine.
I use Google finance as well, and it's good for providing a general overview, but I need to figure out how to compensate for in kind transfers, dividends, etc..
You can try QuickTax Stock Trade Tracker http: I'm still using an old version of MS Money It has been decomissioned, but the great part I like about it is that it still polls MSN Money and downloads daily prices for your mutual funds, etc Even the ones we miss.
Should have been more specific - it's rather difficult to automatically get mutual fund prices.
